Pakistan, Aug. 15 -- The United States is pressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to condemn a settler siege of Palestinian homes in Qusra. The siege has continued for nearly a week.

US and Israeli officials said Washington wants Netanyahu to publicly denounce the actions. The pressure followed reports that a Palestinian-American family was among those affected.

Jewish settlers have surrounded three Palestinian homes and restricted residents' movement, according to officials. Rights groups say the action forms part of wider efforts to seize land around Qusra.
