Pakistan, July 1 -- The US Commerce Department has lifted export controls on Anthropic's advanced Fable and Mythos AI models, less than three weeks after restricting access over national security concerns. Anthropic confirmed the decision on Tuesday, saying it removed the restrictions after introducing new safeguards designed to reduce security risks while allowing wider access to its latest artificial intelligence systems.

The restrictions were introduced on June 12, when Anthropic was ordered to suspend access to Mythos 5 and Fable 5 for foreign nationals because it could not verify users' nationality in real time.
