Pakistan, July 22 -- The United States has spent an estimated $37.5 billion on its ongoing military campaign against Iran, according to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, as the Pentagon seeks additional funding to sustain operations amid growing political scrutiny.

Speaking before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hegseth said the figure covers both current military expenditures and projected costs through September 30.
