Pakistan, July 29 -- The United States (US) said it intercepted multiple ballistic missiles launched by Iran toward American forces in the Middle East, marking a fresh escalation in regional tensions despite recent diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched several ballistic missiles in what Washington described as an "attempted surprise attack." The military said all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted, preventing any reported damage or casualties. CENTCOM did not disclose the exact location of the targeted US installation.
