Pakistan, July 24 -- The United States (US) has imposed new tariffs ranging from 10% to 12.5% on imports from more than 60 trading partners, including Pakistan, citing concerns over inadequate enforcement of measures against goods produced through forced labour.

The new duties took effect on July 24 under Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974, replacing temporary tariffs that expired the same day. The White House said the move is part of President Donald Trump's broader effort to strengthen trade enforcement and encourage trading partners to improve labour standards.
