Pakistan, July 24 -- The United States has imposed new tariffs on imports from 60 trading partners, including Pakistan, India, China, the European Union, and Canada, citing concerns over weak enforcement of forced labour bans. The Trump administration introduced the measures as a temporary 10% global tariff expired, replacing it with new duties under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974. The tariffs took effect at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Friday and cover nearly all US imports, although several key products remain exempt.
