Pakistan, Sept. 9 -- The United States (US) has banned several Canadian imports as trade tensions between both countries continue to intensify. The new restrictions cover alcoholic drinks, motorcycles and selected dairy products. The measures will take effect on September 29. They came after Canada introduced retaliatory tariffs on American goods earlier Tuesday.

The latest US action follows Washington's 50 percent tariffs on about $20 billion of Canadian products. Those tariffs were imposed last month after several rounds of trade negotiations failed.
