Pakistan, April 22 -- Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has described the recent US ceasefire initiative as an important step toward regional peace. He said the move reflects growing space for diplomacy over conflict in a tense geopolitical environment. The statement came during his interaction with media outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore.

He praised the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling them commendable. He said Pakistan is playing a meaningful role in reducing tensions between Iran and the United States. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of continued engagement to build trust between conflicting sides.
