Pakistan, Sept. 22 -- All Iranian commercial airlines will face global shutdown measures from Wednesday, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said. The move forms part of Washington's broader economic pressure campaign against Tehran.

Bessent told CNBC that the restrictions would take effect on September 23. He said the secondary sanctions aim to isolate Iran's civil aviation network. Iranian officials have not publicly responded to the planned restrictions.
