Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in New York for high-level economic talks. The discussions focused on trade tensions, artificial intelligence security and critical minerals.

The talks took place at JPMorgan Chase headquarters in Manhattan on Sunday. Bessent said he expected focused and constructive discussions with He Lifeng. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer also joined the talks as both sides worked to prepare for a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
