Pakistan, April 24 -- The United States (US) has confirmed that Iran national football team will be allowed to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026, but with strict limitations on accompanying personnel linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington has no objection to Iranian athletes competing in the tournament, emphasising that sports participation should not be affected by political tensions.
