Pakistan, Aug. 28 -- South Korea, the United States (US) and Japan will hold a trilateral military exercise next month. The five-day Freedom Edge drill will begin on September 7. It will take place in waters near South Korea's southern Jeju Island. Officials said the exercise will address North Korean nuclear and missile threats. They also described the drill as defensive and aimed at regional stability.
The exercise comes as tensions between North Korea and the United States continue to rise. Pyongyang recently accused Washington of pursuing hostile policies against it.
