Pakistan, Aug. 21 -- Heavy rain has been forecast in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Gujranwala, Lahore and several other areas today, with a risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, intermittent rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar, upper Punjab, Kashmir, upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy rainfall is also likely at some places.

Rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur and Sheikhupura. Heavy rain is particularly expected in Potohar, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Lahore.
