Pakistan, Aug. 23 -- When the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly opens in September 2026, one debate will once again dominate the corridors of New York: how to reform the UN Security Council. The question is no longer whether the Council needs reform. After 80 years, with 193 member states and a world population of more than 8 billion, the question is what kind of reform will make the world's most powerful body more legitimate, more representative, and more effective.
