Pakistan, April 22 -- The United Nations (UN) has reported that nearly 8,000 people died or went missing while irregular migration attempts in 2025, highlighting the continued dangers faced by those seeking better opportunities abroad.

According to a new report released by the International Organization for Migration, a total of 7,904 individuals were recorded as dead or missing last year. While this figure is lower than 2024, when 9,197 such cases were documented, officials caution that the decrease may not reflect an actual improvement in safety.
