Pakistan, Sept. 22 -- United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' spokesperson Stephane Dujarric described the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding as a major achievement. The understanding relates to efforts to address the Iran-US conflict. Dujarric said Pakistan played an important role in the process.

Speaking at a press briefing, Dujarric said Guterres appreciated Pakistan's efforts to help end the conflict. He said the UN secretary-general recognised attempts by Pakistani leaders to promote mediation and reduce violence. Guterres also remained in contact with Pakistani officials during the efforts.
