Pakistan, March 15 -- United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate cessation of fighting and airstrikes in Lebanon, emphasizing that the conflict can only be resolved through diplomacy. Speaking to the media in Beirut, Guterres expressed deep concern over the situation, saying there is no military solution to Lebanon's crisis and that negotiations are the only path to peace.

Guterres warned that southern Lebanon is on the brink of devastation, with southern Beirut also facing severe destruction following evacuation orders. He stressed that the Lebanese people did not choose this war but have been forced into it, and that civilian protection and respect for human life must remain a top priority.
