Pakistan, July 17 -- The UK government has announced plans to ban the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to children under the age of 16 in England, aiming to protect young people's health and reduce the impact of excessive caffeine consumption on sleep, mental wellbeing and academic performance.

The proposed law, which is expected to come into force next April after approval by Parliament, will apply to drinks containing more than 150 milligrams of caffeine per litre. The restrictions will cover sales through shops, online retailers and vending machines.
