Pakistan, Sept. 19 -- Britain's air traffic control operator NATS said a software defect caused last week's major outage. The disruption affected hundreds of thousands of passengers across the country. It also led to around 2,000 flight cancellations and several days of delays. Airlines faced millions of pounds in costs while restoring schedules and refunding passengers. NATS said the incident did not compromise aviation safety.
