NEW YORK, Sept. 2 -- Uber Technologies plans to eliminate about 3,300 corporate jobs worldwide. The cuts represent around 10% of the company's global corporate workforce. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced the changes in a staff memo. He said rapid growth created unnecessary complexity across the company. Uber's revenue has nearly tripled over the past five years. The company now plans to reduce management layers and simplify its operations. The layoffs began on Wednesday as part of the restructuring.
