Pakistan, Aug. 28 -- The International Cricket Council has banned Asif Khan of United Arab Emirates for 15 months after the batter tested positive for a banned substance.
The ICC said in a statement on Thursday that Khan, 36, admitted the violation of its anti-doping code and accepted the ban for using a banned substance - "a metabolite of mesterolone" - in an out-of-competition test conducted in September 2025.
The ban was backdated from Sept. 8, 2025 and runs to Dec. 7, 2026. The ICC said he can return to training with a team on Oct. 8. Asif, who played for Pakistan as under-19 cricketer, represented UAE in 38 ODIs and 56 T20s since making his debut for the gulf country in 2022.
