Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- Two policemen guarding a polio vaccination team was martyred in a gun attack by unidentified assailants in in Noshki district of Balochistan on Tuesday.

According to security sources, the police personnel came under fire in the Killi Jamalabad area while providing security to the polio vaccination team.

The bodies of the martyred policemen were shifted to Noshki Teaching Hospital.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and expressed grief over the deaths of police personnel Muhammad Yasir and Abdul Rauf.

Naqvi said attacking a team working to protect the future of children was a "heinous and unforgivable" act, adding that those responsible deserve punishment.
