Pakistan, Aug. 22 -- Two people died in separate drowning incidents as heavy rains caused flooding in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A woman drowned in Battagram after floodwaters swept her away in a stream. Rescue 1122 officials said the incident occurred in the Joze area on Friday. Heavy rainfall caused the stream to overflow and become dangerous. Rescue teams and civil defence workers recovered the woman's body. They later handed it over to her family.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died after drowning in the swollen Panjkora River in Lower Dir. Officials identified the victim as Kaunain, who lived in the Khazana area. Residents said he went to the river for swimming when strong currents swept him away. People nearby pulled him from the w...
