Pakistan, Oct. 8 -- Turkiye is assessing how it can help Saudi Arabia respond to attacks from Yemen's Houthis under a new defence pact with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said military officials are reviewing possible support for Saudi Arabia. He said the talks focus mainly on air defence and other military needs.

Fidan spoke during a press conference in Ankara on Thursday. He said Turkiye wants to understand what role it can play under the agreement.

The Turkish foreign minister stressed that the pact has a defensive purpose. He said the agreement does not allow its members to launch attacks on other countries.
