Pakistan, May 28 -- US President Donald Trump has rejected reports suggesting that Iran and Oman would jointly manage shipping through the Strait of Hormuz under a potential agreement. His remarks signal that negotiations to end the ongoing conflict remain uncertain and far from a final settlement.

Trump said no single country would be allowed to control the strategic waterway, calling it international waters. He made the statement during a cabinet meeting attended by reporters while responding to Iranian state media reports about a draft agreement. The draft reportedly proposed restoring commercial shipping and easing restrictions in the region.
