Pakistan, July 13 -- US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the United States will reinstate its naval blockade targeting Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz. He said international shipping through the strategic waterway would remain open despite the renewed measures. The announcement marks another escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared that the Strait of Hormuz would remain accessible "with or without Iran." He said the United States would continue to ensure freedom of navigation through one of the world's busiest energy corridors. Trump maintained that commercial shipping by other countries would not be affected.
