Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- Pakistan's textile industry has urged the government to immediately resolve the indefinite goods transport strike, warning that prolonged disruption could affect exports, cotton supplies and mill operations. The transporters' strike began on August 8 and has already disrupted the movement of essential industrial cargo across the country.
The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association has asked the Communications Ministry to intervene and address the dispute with goods transporters. Aptma Chairman Kamran Arshad said export containers, imported cotton containers and trucks for locally purchased cotton were unavailable because of the strike.
