Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- Security forces killed 10 militants in separate counterterrorism operations across northwestern Pakistan this week. The military said the operations targeted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants.

Eight militants were killed in South Waziristan on Thursday after militants attacked a security forces checkpoint. Security forces responded and killed the attackers during an exchange of fire.

Two additional militants were killed in a separate operation in Dir district on the same day. The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants.
