Pakistan, April 22 -- Iran has welcomed Pakistan's mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire, signaling support for diplomatic solutions while remaining prepared for escalation. The statement highlights Islamabad's growing role in easing tensions amid the ongoing regional crisis.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Tehran appreciated Pakistan's role and reaffirmed readiness to respond to any situation. He stressed that Iran did not initiate the conflict and acted under its right to self-defence.
