Pakistan, June 20 -- Officials have revealed the detailed tax structure included in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan. According to petroleum division sources, around 29 percent of the retail price of both fuels consists of taxes. The breakdown highlights the significant role of levies and duties in determining fuel costs for consumers.
For petrol, officials said taxes amount to Rs88.07 per litre. This includes Rs19.32 customs duty, Rs66.25 petroleum levy, and Rs2.50 climate support levy. Authorities noted that these components collectively form a substantial portion of the final pump price.
