MONTERREY, June 15 -- Sweden delivered a dominant performance in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F opener, defeating Tunisia 5-1 at Estadio Monterrey on Sunday to move top of the group.
The Scandinavian side, led by a sharp attacking display, scored five goals in a World Cup match for the first time since 1938, showcasing renewed confidence after a difficult qualifying campaign.
Midfielder Yasin Ayari starred with two outstanding goals, while forwards Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres also found the net in a clinical attacking display that overwhelmed Tunisia's defence.
