Pakistan, Aug. 19 -- An African proverb says that "until the hunted begin to tell their stories, all stories will belong to the hunter." The issue, however, is not merely one of choice; it is a question of who has the power to decide who gets to tell the story. During the colonial and postcolonial eras, it was largely the colonizer who determined who could speak, whose stories mattered, and how those stories should be represented. In the age of artificial intelligence, it has become even more necessary to ask which stories are being told, who is telling them, and, most importantly, who has the power to decide what is worth telling.
