Colombo, Sept. 2 -- Sri Lankan and US anti-narcotics agents seized 463 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in Colombo. Police said the operation targeted a Pakistani drug network. Two Pakistani men were also arrested following the seizure.
The drugs were found inside a shipping container that arrived in Colombo over the weekend. Police Deputy Inspector-General Ashoka Dharmasena confirmed the arrests. Authorities also arrested a local man over the suspected drug shipment.
The US embassy said the seized narcotics were worth around $21 million. Officials found the crystal meth hidden inside bath towels. They said traffickers planned to move the drugs through Sri Lanka to international markets.
