Pakistan, Aug. 15 -- South Korean President Lee Jae Myung called for talks with North Korea to formally end the Korean War. Speaking on Korea's Liberation Day, Lee urged Seoul and Pyongyang to pursue peaceful coexistence and shared growth.

He said both sides should replace the peninsula's unstable armistice with a lasting peace regime. The Korean War ended in 1953 with an armistice rather than a formal peace treaty.
