Pakistan, Oct. 8 -- The Sindh Abadgar Ittehad has warned of protest if the government fails to fix fair prices for crops and provide relief on inputs.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ittehad President Nawab Zubair Talpur demanded wheat price be fixed at Rs 5,500 per maund and sugarcane at Rs 650 per maund, saying current low rates have caused huge financial losses to growers. Leaders said paddy (rice) rates have been cut while urea and DAP fertilizer prices are continuously rising, making farming unaffordable.
