KARACHI, Sept. 1 -- The Sindh cabinet has approved a two-year extension of tax and registration incentives for electric vehicles. The incentives will remain available until May 29, 2028. The decision came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The package aims to encourage cleaner and more sustainable transport across the province.

Under the approved package, the registration fee for electric vehicles will remain Rs1,000. The annual motor vehicle tax for non-commercial electric vehicles will stay at Rs500.
