Pakistan, May 22 -- The Meteorological Department has issued a severe heatwave alert for Sindh as temperatures are expected to rise sharply between May 25 and May 31. The alert warns that several districts may face extreme heat due to a developing high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere. Authorities say conditions could become hazardous for vulnerable groups across the province.

Officials said temperatures are expected to remain 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal during the period. In some areas, the mercury may rise as high as 50 degrees Celsius. The warning highlights an increased risk of heat-related illnesses and stress on public services.
