Pakistan, June 22 -- The Sindh government has declared public holidays on June 25 and 26, 2026, in connection with Ashura, according to an official notification issued on Monday.

The announcement was shared by the Sindh Information Department on the social media platform X, confirming that the holidays will be observed across the province on Thursday and Friday, corresponding to Muharram 9 and 10, 1448 AH.

According to the notification issued by the chief secretary of Sindh, all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organisations, corporations and local councils under the provincial administration will remain closed during the two-day holiday period. However, essential services will continue to operate as usual.
