Pakistan, June 18 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian of Pakistan's continued support in the next phase of negotiations with the United States. The assurance came during a telephone call between the two leaders on Wednesday. The development follows the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the call lasted more than 30 minutes and marked the first contact after the agreement. PM Shehbaz congratulated the Iranian leadership on the deal and praised its expected role in regional peace. He said Pakistan would continue to act as a supportive neighbour in all areas of cooperation.
