Pakistan, May 12 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed expedited work on new fertilizer plants to increase domestic production and strengthen food security. He issued the instructions while chairing a high-level meeting on fertilizer supply and agricultural planning in Islamabad. The move aims to ensure stable availability of key inputs for farmers across Pakistan.

The prime minister stressed the need for timely fertilizer delivery to farmers under all circumstances. He said adequate reserves must be maintained for both Kharif and Rabi cropping seasons. Officials informed the meeting that sufficient fertilizer stocks are currently available to meet seasonal demand.
