Pakistan, Aug. 13 -- The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered an independent inquiry into an HIV outbreak among children at a Karachi hospital. The court directed the Sindh government to form a committee led by the chief secretary. The committee will investigate the number of affected children and determine how the infections occurred. The inquiry will also examine whether medical equipment or disposable syringes were reused improperly. Moreover, officials will review the hospital's infection-control procedures and safety measures.
