Pakistan, Aug. 6 -- Former Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan's ancestral home was attacked after he joined a media event featuring ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Police said attackers threw bricks and petrol bombs at the residence.

The attack took place in Magura town, southwest of Dhaka, on Wednesday. Police said the property was empty during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The attack followed Shakib's participation in a virtual event organized by the Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia. During the event, Hasina said she planned to return to Bangladesh.
