Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- Bangladeshi cricket star Shakib Al Hasan said he is ready to return home if authorities guarantee his security. The former captain also said he would face trial over criminal charges.

Shakib has lived in the United States since Sheikh Hasina's government fell during protests in August 2024. He said he wants to return and play a farewell series for Bangladesh.

The 39-year-old remains an international cricketer and hopes to represent Bangladesh at the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, his return depends on government assurances regarding his safety.
