Pakistan, Sept. 18 -- A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research, chaired by Senator Masroor Ahsan, began with Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain in attendance.
Briefing the committee, the federal minister said that around 67 per cent of the country's population is associated with agriculture, underlining the importance of reforms and development in the sector.
During the meeting, Senator Danesh Kumar remarked that he had served under three governments and that every incoming minister claimed to be introducing reforms.
"Whenever a new minister comes, he says reforms are being introduced. We heard the same thing during the PTI government as well," he said....
