Pakistan, July 11 -- The Senate Standing Committee on Interior has approved a bill to grant free official (blue) passports to former members of parliament, their spouses and dependent children.
The bill, titled The Members of Parliament (Salaries and Allowances) (Amendment) Act, 2026, was presented by Senator Abdul Qadir during the committee meeting and received the panel's approval.
According to the proposed amendment, former members of parliament will be entitled to free official blue passports. Their spouses will also qualify for the facility, while dependent children under the age of 28 will be eligible to receive free blue passports.
