Pakistan, Oct. 11 -- An international team led by Chinese scientists has discovered a rare, 160-million-year-old fossil in northeastern China. The specimen belongs to a newly identified species named Megacoadon songi. Researchers say it represents the largest known docodont, an extinct group of early mammal relatives. The findings appeared online in the scientific journal Nature on October 7.
