Pakistan, Sept. 25 -- Sarmad Khoosat's Lali will open the Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle. The Pakistani film will screen on October 15 during the festival's opening night. Its selection adds another international platform for Pakistani cinema.

The film will screen at the Tasveer Film Centre at 6pm local time. Organisers will hold a red carpet event before the screening. The cast and crew will also meet audiences after the film ends.

The festival features 136 titles, including 21 feature films, in this year's programme. It is known as the only South Asian festival linked to Oscar consideration. The festival announced Lali's opening-night selection on Instagram on Thursday.
