Pakistan, Sept. 13 -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has planned Sarkhwai Barani dam in district Mardan for purposes of drinking and irrigation.

The dam will be constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 3 billion, which will irrigate around 1,162 acres of barren land. The construction of the dam will promote agricultural activities in the area, significantly increase farmers' production, and ensure the availability of water for agriculture throughout all twelve months of the year.
