Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- The Federal Board of Revenue collected higher income tax from salaried workers in July than during the previous two years. The increase came despite recent reductions in income tax rates. FBR collected Rs44 billion from salaried individuals during July, according to sources.

The latest collection was higher than the Rs42 billion collected in July 2024. It was also significantly above the Rs30 billion collected in July 2023. The figures show that salaried taxpayers contributed more revenue during the first month of the current fiscal year.
