Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- India's top-order batter Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the upcoming red-ball series against Sri Lanka after suffering a right toe stress reaction. The BCCI said Sudharsan is recovering well and has made significant progress, but he will miss the important two-Test series.

Sarfaraz Khan has joined India's squad as Sudharsan's replacement, bringing valuable international experience after playing six Tests for the national side. His inclusion gives India another experienced batting option as the team prepares for a crucial series in the World Test Championship race.
